When should I arrange my energy contract?
You should ideally arrange your energy contract about 2 weeks before you receive the keys to your new apartment. This ensures you have electricity and heating on day one. When signing up, you just fill in your future address and move-in date.
What is the difference between Fixed, Variable, and Dynamic?
Fixed (Vast): Your price per kWh is locked in for 1-3 years. Very safe.
Variable (Variabel): Prices change every 3 to 6 months based on the market.
Dynamic (Dynamisch): Prices change per hour! Only recommended if you are a heavy user who can time their usage (like charging an electric car at night).
How do I arrange water?
In the Netherlands, you cannot choose your water provider; it is determined by your municipality. For example, in Amsterdam, you must register with Waternet. You usually do this after moving in.
